Introduction to Ashtanga Yoga

A detailed introduction to this dynamic method, including proper alignment, breath control, bandhas (energy locks), drishti (gaze), is developed and explained.  The beginning portion of the primary series and finishing poses are taught as well as the corresponding "vinyasas", or linking poses

Introduction to Hatha Yoga

This course is ideal for beginners or anyone who wants to broaden their knowledge of Hatha Yoga. Learn the basic movement patterns including breath awareness, and safe alignment principles as students discover the joy of yoga.

Introduction to Pilates

This six week intro course on Pilates will improve your core strength and stability inside and out! The Pilates Method has 4 basic Fundamentals which inform each exercise: specialized breathing, stabilization of the pelvis, stablilization of the shoulder girdle, and the use of the abdominals and powerhouse area (hips, buttocks and deep postural muscles). There are 9 principles which guide the Method: Concentration, Control, Centre, Fluidity, Precision, Breath, Imagination, Intuition and Integration.

Introduction to Meditation

This course is designed to introduce practitioners to the foundational practices of meditation. You will explore a progressive variety of styles and teachings that will complement your yoga practice. Each class will include technical instruction, theory, philosophy, discussion and a group sitting practice. Upon completion of this session you will have the tools you need to support and sustain your home practice.

With space permitting we will accept registrations up until the 2nd week of any introductory course. However space is limited, so please register early to avoid disappointment! These are pre-registered course, drop-in passes are not accepted.
