Lizl Fleury is a fresh, new face in the yoga community. Her yoga journey began in 2003—exploring various yoga traditions which lead to her passion for Power Yoga. It started off as a physical venture from her usual gym routine. As her practice grew, as did her love for yoga. Lizl found physical and mental therapy through yoga, especially during hardships in her life.
Anna’s yoga practice and study began over 15 years ago. The Bhakti system that she practices, is a complete yoga system that includes Hatha postures, Pranayam breathing, Ayurvedic nutrition and lifestyle, sacred Mantras, and devotional service to the Supreme. Her devotion to yoga as a lifestyle, bestowed her priceless rewards. Her goal is to pass on this wonderful gift, as she has received it from great teachers. Anna now lives in Ottawa and teaches Hatha yoga and Meditation.
Anna studied yoga in Toronto, California, Israel, and Thailand, and trained formally under April Underwood in Sacramento, California where she received her certification.
Miska Têtu has been practicing yoga for over a decade and has been teaching since 2011. Movement is an integral part of Miska’s life and for this reason yoga came as a natural path to follow. She practices various styles of yoga including Power, Hatha, Yin and Ashtanga. Miska’s focus is on alignment, building strength and stretching while using breath to discover the body and as a tool to still the mind. Miska completed her Power Yoga Teacher Training at Rama Lotus and has completed other intensive training since as well as attended numerous workshops. She enjoys sharing the positive effects of yoga with others, so you can anticipate walking out of her class with a smile!
Jane came to the world of yoga from a lengthy background in ballet. The precision of body placement and quiet strength required in yoga appealed to her disciplined side while her spirit was attracted to the calm quietness the mind experiences after yoga practice.
Jane completed her 200 hr teacher training in Moksha in Brazil and currently teaches 2 power classes at our friendly Elgin Street studio.
Bodine discovered Yoga when training with Constantine Darling’s Chien Lung Movement artists in 1995 while living on Saltspring Island in BC. Many mornings were spent at the Saltspring Yoga center where the sacredness of the space and beauty of the movements were felt and it resonated deeply. At the time and throughout the years Yoga was just a complement to other physical endeavors and would come and go.
Margaret Konopacki was born in Toronto and grew up in Ottawa, Canada in a Polish family. She graduated from Carleton University with a BA in Journalism and Political Science and then went on to seek her fulfillment in the entertainment industry in Toronto in the 80′s. After two decades of working in the television industry in the area of Entertainment Publicity/ Marketing and as a Documentary Director, she found the practice of yoga and became a devoted student.
The practice of yoga was introduced to Crystale in 2008 by a friend who gave her a Yoga DVD to try at home. The more she practiced yoga the more benefits she experienced. It was the first time in her life that she became aware of her breathing and became more present; busy thoughts became more still. Her journey began at Rama Lotus with an intensive 200 hour Hatha Yoga Teacher certification in 2009. The whole experience changed her life and ignited her spiritual path.
Seven years of gymnastics training peaked Robin Russell-Hosein’s interest in body awareness. Both his mother and brother were yoga teachers so the young boy received instruction at a very early age. He started a personal practice at 17 and gravitated towards the practice of Power Yoga. By 2008 his practice moved away from that discipline favoring a more restorative form of practice. In 2008 he completed a 200- hour Hatha Yoga Teacher Training at Upward Dog in Ottawa.

Sarah’s “Yogic Journey to Freedom” began ten years ago, in Brighton, England, when immense physical pain led her to a Hatha yoga class. Years later Sarah was fortunate to gain an understanding of Vinyasa/ Ashtanga at Yoga Elements Studio in Bangkok where she was inspired to teach by Cerissa Nyen. She was soon after fortunate to reap the benefits of pre natal yoga, twice.
Laurie was one of those people who was dragged kicking and screaming to her first yoga class in 1988. Something must have resonated because in 2005 she completed the 200-hour Hatha Yoga Teacher Training at Kripalu. Over the past 20-some odd years, Laurie has observed herself in a constant state of change and growth as both a student and as a teacher of yoga.
Susan completed her 250 hr Hatha Yoga Teacher Training with Sylvie Gouin and Brian Oxborough at Core-Elation Yoga in Ottawa and has continued her studies in Yin Yoga with Bif Mithoefer and Kaline Alayna Kelly, Prenatal Yoga with Janice Clarfield, and various ongoing workshops and classes in yoga, movement, and bodywork. She sees our practice on the mat as a microcosm of our whole lives, approaching it with curiosity, compassion, and gratitude. In teaching yoga, she hopes to open a door for students to tap into their own body wisdom, to cultivate deeper awareness, and to experience the ‘now’ of the present moment.
